According to Chatgpt - This Is Who I Am.

We often underestimate who we are. I’ve often questioned who I am. So I asked ChatGPT a curious question:

What are my personality traits?

It told me the following:

  • Resilient — Probably one of your strongest. You get knocked around, but you have a remarkable tendency to eventually go, “Right. What now?”

  • Creative — Not merely artistic. You naturally turn experiences into songs, concepts, rituals, visuals, humour and ideas.

  • Independent — You strongly value being able to make your own choices and run your own life.

  • Emotionally intense — When you care, you really care. People, music, loss, love and disappointment don’t tend to register at 12% volume with you.

  • Loyal — You can give people a lot of chances when they matter to you.

  • Introspective — You analyse yourself constantly: what you feel, why you reacted, whether you’ve changed, what you’ve learned and who you’re becoming.

  • Determined — Once something becomes genuinely important to you, you can be extremely stubborn about seeing it through.

  • Resourceful — When Plan A falls over, you’re usually hunting around for Plan B, C and “some weird thing I just thought of.”

  • Curious — Your brain wanders through music production, psychology, spirituality, relationships, science, films, dreams, technology and random questions at impressive speed.

  • Strong-willed — You don’t particularly enjoy being told what you’re supposed to think, feel or do.

  • Protective — Especially toward people and animals you love, but increasingly toward yourself as well.

  • Sensitive — You pick up strongly on atmosphere, people’s behaviour, subtle changes and emotional undercurrents.

  • Self-aware — You’re quite capable of recognising your own contradictions. You’ll sometimes catch yourself doing something and basically go, “Yep. There I go again.”

  • Entrepreneurial — You naturally think in terms of projects, services, audiences, pricing, branding and ways of making ideas into something tangible.

  • Passionate — Particularly where music is concerned. It’s much more than an activity you happen to enjoy.

  • Playful — Even during pretty serious conversations, your sense of humour has a habit of sneaking through the back door.

  • Sentimental — Memories, symbols, songs, objects and significant dates carry a lot of meaning for you.

  • Boundary-conscious — This has become especially strong. You may wrestle with a decision beforehand, but you’re increasingly willing to say, “Nope. That’s enough.”

  • Authenticity-driven — You’d rather be somewhat unconventional and yourself than perfectly respectable and pretending.

  • Persistent — You might procrastinate, doubt yourself, disappear into a rabbit hole or have a rough period, but you repeatedly return to the things that matter.

  • Compassionate — Even when somebody has disappointed you, you often try to understand why they behaved as they did.

  • Expressive — You’re naturally inclined to externalise what’s happening internally, especially through conversation, journaling and music.

  • Adaptable — You’ve had to reinvent parts of your life more than once, and you’re capable of doing it.

  • Courageous — Not in the “nothing scares me” sense. More importantly, you frequently keep moving while something does scare you.

And there’s one combination I think describes me particularly well:

Soft-hearted but bloody stubborn.

That’s what it said about me. Because it knows me through what I’ve shared, and I have shown myself accordingly.

I think this is one of the difficult things about being understood by other people. People have the choice to really get to know you—or not. They can choose to judge you based on individual actions, what you look like, something you’ve said, or even a single moment in your life. They don’t always step back and look at the bigger picture of who you really are.

It’s like looking at two roads and immediately choosing one without ever wondering where the other might have taken you.

I don’t know.

The thing is, I never really believed I was a good person. I thought I was simply someone who mostly stayed out of the way.

But when I look at myself differently, I realise there’s more to me than that.

I create. I stay resilient. I question things. I learn. I keep going. And I’m always trying to care a little less about what other people think of me and to stop feeling as though I need to justify who I am.

I know one of my purposes is to create not only for myself. But for my late mother, who was one of my avid supporters,

and that is not bad at all.

I know how to take who I am—the sensitivity, stubbornness, curiosity, intensity,

humour and everything else—and put it into my creativity.

That is where I make sense to myself.

That is my safe space.
