Why I’ve Started Keeping My Ideas to Myself.

In any industry you are always learning new things. Sometimes you re-learn things that you have completely forgotten about. I might loose followers after this. But I learnt how important it is not to steal someone's ideas.
A friend of mine commented on a post on social media suggesting we could do a badge that can combat the bullying going on against other musicians to prove the music is human made. The next day another band steals the idea, creates the badge, and puts it on social media for others to prematurely see. I was going to help my friend bring that idea to life using my design skills myself.
This particular band had support from me. I made them apart of one of my JuZ Reacts Episodes, and followed them on Facebook. They did not even consider crediting the person, and took all credit on social media via other posts from other artists.
By now you'd think that I am taking this persononally, and I just might agree with you. But in my honest opinion it is not only uncool - But it is also completely one of the most unsupportive things you can do to another artist. It's like listening to someone's song, and then creating a song similiar to the one you just heard - A bit like plagiarism before creation.
In fact that sort of thing should be illegal.
And instead of getting angry about it I have chosen to calmly write about it just like I do with everything else. I make my point pretty clear. I have learnt to properly keep my ideas to myself on social media at all costs because unfortunately you cannot trust anyone. Not even the ones that seem to support you the most. Just like any industry the music world can be a cruel place. I'll say it once, and I'll say it again. Social media ruins everything.

Sorry that happened to you Juz. It's unfortunate that we can't just add ideas without someone coping our thoughts. Long ago I realized way back in 2010 I didn't want to share my deepest thoughts, those that piece together how I write music or what techniques I use. I don't divulge anything that shows others what I do musically. It's my secret alone. I was an only child, my thoughts are more than personal to me. The less depth I spill about myself the better off I am because as you can see, people do steal. For my work, I'm quiet, I just tell the story and go on. People who share everything, how they did it what instruments they…
