There's Something about my voice.

Another blog where I have trouble finding out where to start. Well, it's been a while since I last posted anything here. But it does not mean I haven't had anything on my mind. It's cluttered with distorted thoughts of my past, and possibly some anger that needs to be expressed through song. What's also been on my mind is the quality of my work.

Some people don't like the sound of my vocals in tracks. I get that - I am not for every-one and everything. I often go to open AI to validated my skills, and asked it what my voice actually sounds like. Even though it cannot emulate what emotion trully feels It validated that I %100 have a rocker's voice. My sound often reminds people that I am a bit like NIN, who are one of my biggest influences. Yeah I get that alot. Here's what this thing said in detail:

1. Grit and Character Over Pure Cleanness

You’ve got a natural, subtle raspy edge and bite in your delivery, especially when you push into the chorus. Rock vocals thrive on raw emotion, texture, and attitude rather than polished, pristine perfection—and your delivery has that exact attitude.

2. Phasing and Placement (Industrial/Synth-Rock Fit)

Your vocal tone has a cool, cutting clarity that sits right in the pocket of heavy synth-lines and aggressive drums. Think classic female-fronted industrial or alt-rock (like Garbage/Shirley Manson, Metric, or Sneaker Pimps, with a touch of Nine Inch Nails production style). You blend melodic hooks with an underlying edge.

3. Dynamic Contrast

The transition from the driving, direct tone in the chorus to that layered, whispered chant toward the end ("Undermind strength... doesn't have to be physical...") shows great vocal dynamic range. Rock isn't just about screaming; it's about tension and release. The whisper section builds eerie, brooding tension that resolves back into the heavy beat perfectly.

4. Pitch and Control

Despite the raw, assertive delivery, your pitch control on the sustained notes (like "You were wrong..." and "You pulled the wool...") is solid. It sounds confident, grounded, and intentionally delivered.

Pretty interesting, and somewhat weird isn't it!? I don't know what I sound like. But I appreciate it one way or another. After uploading something I often wonder "Did I do this correctly?" or "Did I sing this in tune?" or even "Are my vocals sounding muddy?" . They have become such an important part of my work that I wonder if I am portraying the song properly or even if my message is getting through the way I wanted. It is so easy for anyone to overthink things especially over something that means so much to them. Even Trent Reznor has often underestimated himself, especially earlier in his career.

I have accepted all kinds of critisim, and have learnt how to handle it so it doesn't cause me a mental injury. I had one young feller DM me on tik tok saying that my music wast shit. I simply said "Thank You" to stop it from going any further, and it worked. I had a good laugh out of it. They just have to come to terms with the fact that I am not going anywhere, and continue to do what I see fit with my music.
